Gero Martin
Lawyer | Senior Counsel
Gero Martin has been advising domestic and foreign clients in all areas of real estate law and commercial tenancy law for over 20 years.
One focus of Gero’s work is the structuring and support of real estate transactions, particularly the acquisition and sale of commercial, retail, logistics, hotel and residential properties as well as real estate portfolios as asset or share deals. In addition to conducting real estate and tenancy law due diligence reviews for sellers and buyers, Mr. Martin drafts and negotiates the associated real estate purchase agreements and all other contracts in connection with the execution and conclusion of a real estate transaction (namely lease agreements, service and management agreements and real estate development agreements). He also assists his clients in the “post-closing” process with the settlement of concluded real estate purchase agreements.
In addition, Gero Martin provides ongoing advice to real estate portfolio holders in Germany and abroad on all legal issues that may arise in connection with the ongoing use and management of real estate (legal asset management). In this context, he mainly advises on the drafting and negotiation of contracts (tenancy agreements, operator agreements, administrator agreements, facility management agreements), on in- and out-of-court disputes with tenants or landlords, on the implementation of construction measures (including the pursuit of any warranty claims) and on correspondence with authorities. As part of his ongoing legal advice, Gero also regularly conducts in-house training sessions for his clients on tenancy law issues.
Gero Martin has particular expertise in advising on cross-border real estate transactions and projects.
