Real estate transactions


In recent years, our transaction teams have supported real estate transactions of all kinds throughout Germany with a total volume of more than EUR 8 billion in all asset classes, such as commercial buildings, residential complexes, landmark buildings, hotels, logistics properties and development sites. Our advice covers all forms of real estate transactions, such as asset deals, share deals, sale-and-lease-back transactions, heritable building rights contracts and numerous forward deals and club deals. Our clients include some of the most active real estate investors in Germany, foreign investors as well as DAX companies, industrial companies, project developers, insurance companies, family offices and banks. Our team has also supported numerous structured bidding processes.

Commercial tenancy law


In recent years, our real estate team has advised both project developers and tenants in all asset classes on the conclusion of complex lease agreements, particularly on the conclusion of commercial leases for office, retail and logistics space, often in the context of project developments. A major focus is on advising on hotel lease and leasehold agreements as well as on boarding house projects. The developments we have advised on include some of the most complex lettings of recent years in Munich and throughout Germany.

Procurement law


Ongoing advice and representation of a large German engineering company in the award of public sector contracts in the field of civil engineering planning and oversight (e.g. bridge construction) as well as in the field of structural design in building construction. The investment volume of most of the projects tendered and processed is over EUR 10 million. Our work focuses on the legal support of the client during the application process up to the implementation of review and appeal proceedings before the public procurement divisions of the Higher Regional Courts against decisions of the public procurement tribunals (5 to 10 cases per year)

Advising and representing a holding company of a major German city in the awarding of construction contracts for various projects, including representing the client as a respondent in review proceedings brought by the bidders before the public procurement tribunal

Advising and representing a public corporation (religious community) in the awarding of construction contracts for a major construction project (investment volume approx. EUR 50 million), including representing the client as a respondent in review proceedings brought by the bidders before the public procurement review body

Advising and representing an architectural firm as intervener of the client within the framework of a damage compensation action brought by the bidder against the client (special fund under public law) for alleged exclusion from the award procedure for a large construction project (project volume: approx. EUR 300 million) in violation of public procurement law

Advising and representing a major German construction company in its bid for the award of a large public transport construction project (subway construction; contract volume: approx. EUR 80 million), including conducting a review procedure before the public procurement tribunal.

Advising and representing a major German construction company in the context of a review procedure concerning the award of a large construction project in the field of public drinking water supply (investment volume over EUR 100 million).
